Technologies Employed at Uni-Automation.
- Wire-Wound Resistance elements
Uni-Automation holds a patent for the design of a potentiometer using continuously
wound fine gauge resistance wire element. This unique design allows an excellent
control on the linearity as well as automated winding operation.
- Conductive plastic thick resistance films An
own proprietary conductive plastic formulation helps create tough, flexible films
on Glass epoxy laminate, High temperature flexible films or Ceramic substrates.
These film properties guarantee a long lasting element giving millions of cycles
life for the devices in which it is employed.
The conductive plastic is screen printed in precisely designed patterns on these
substrates and fired at high temperatures to get the desired properties. The printing
is done class 10,000 clean-room to achieve high quality and reliability. Terminals
formed in screen-printing are used as they are or terminated on robust gold plated
rivets with secure connections.
- Hybrid Conductive plastic + wire wound elements Uni-Automation is one of the few manufacturers in the world having
this technology. A continuous resistive layer is formed over wound resistance wires.
This lowers the temp co-efficient of resistance of the combination and increases
the power handling capacity, while giving the long life characteristics of CP.
- New Technologies We are developing
new technologies for Non Contact type potentiometers, Multi turn Potentiometers,
Cermic Printed elements and so on.
